Yes, you read it right! This car is going for 3.5 - 4 Million USD on the used market right now. It's also my first chance to sit in a hypercar and it sure was special!! Check out some up close and personal pics of this gorgeous LaFerrari that also won first place at the Danville Concours d'Elegance. This was a charity event in which the proceeds would go to benefit Parkinson's Disease research and patient care. Alot of exotics, performance cars, classics and even boats showed up. It was a bright sunny day out and very dry out over in the East Bay. The entire street was lined with amazing cars and a couple of vendors including McLaren, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Jaguar among others.
Turns out he was okay with that as well! Sometimes I get lots of looks and questions in amazement of how I get to attend certain events or do certain things. And the truth is, I'm not afraid to ask, or even if I am afraid of being rejected, I do it anyways, just to tell myself that I could ask. More times than not, you'd be surprised at what people are willing to let you do or show you. Worst they can say is no. Just for reference, I did get rejected by the McLaren folks who were doing test drives. I asked and they said it was only for potential clients and people with an invitation. They were nice about it, no hard feelings. No worries, opportunities are plenty, you just have to go after them. Okay enough about that, onto cars! Here's the proof if you don't believe me. Yes, those are my legs and feet ... and my camera decides not to focus at the "best" time of course. Sigh ... Finally, at least I got one nice shot! But yeah everything is just absolutely stunning on the inside. The seats of the LaFerrari are nonadjustable. The seats are actually made to order for the owners. The steering rack is what is actually adjustable. The owner told me that he couldn't really track the car because his helmet was getting in the way due to the way the seats were designed (without a helmet). He even lets his son drive his car from time to time at the country club! This was the McLaren 720s that was brought to Monterey Car Week by McLaren of SF. It's not the one we saw at Exotics on Cannery Row (that was owned by an individual). However, this time around I could get up close and get some amazing shots of this car. The lines are much more clearly defined in person. It's really hard to capture this car on camera. I did think this car was ugly the first time I saw it but the more I see it in person, the more it grows on me. The performance is similar to a P1 in terms of straight line acceleration. It's down about 200 HP but also down about 500lbs or so according to the sales rep. The car starts out at $289k which is ridiculously cheap for a car that performs like this stock. I'm excited to see what replaces the 570s! Here's the rest of the cars!
