The last review of the BMW M3/M4 from Motor Trend was quite disappointing coming from an M3 owner. Both hosts bashed the M3 for its suspension, lack of steering feedback etc etc. Anyways, Motor Trend seemed to have quite alot of good to say about the new competition package that seems to put the M3 back to where it should have been from the start. The difference is quite big according to the hosts but is it enough to beat the Alfa Romeo? Watch the video and find out! Last time the M car was going against the Camaro SS. In all honesty, 99% of the people considering buying an M3/M4 would not even think about putting it up against a Camaro. They're two different beasts for different market segments and for different purposes. That video is down below if you're interested, but it won't be pretty for the M. What I also noticed was that the M car was optioned out quite oddly. It was over 80k but with cloth seats, fixed dampers, no backup camera or keyless entry (I'm assuming no executive package). It had the carbon ceramic brakes and I don't know much else that can throw this over 80k. I believe it has the lighting package, manual transmission, 19" wheels and perhaps the driver's assist package. But boy is this thing optioned out quite poorly especially for a press car. Another thing is that Motor Trend has had 4 videos about the M3/M4, more than any other car ever on the channel. It's hard to believe that a car that is a repeat over and over on the show is something that gets criticized so heavily on one end and put on a pedestal on the other. I think that simply having this car on their show so often shows that the M3/M4 defines the luxury sport sedan segment. It has been the benchmark for decades and it will still be what every other manufacturer is vying for in the future. I am not affiliated with Motor Trend in and way, shape or form.
